While the grant Meshrep party (a local dance party) is held in the Kok Chol village, a great musician passed away. A chant of ‘when a scholar died, a village died with him’came from the villagers. At the same time at the performance site, a boy was born, and was named ‘Senet (Art)’, to commemorate the great musician. Senet grew up surrounded by the music of Muqam (A Uyghurs guitar), and believed in the old sayings ‘my Muqam is a string of life which can comfort misfortune, sorrow and sadness’. Like Senet’s name, ‘Art’, he will also become part of ‘music’ that is closely related to people’s lives in his village.
